Where has RoethigTech been? The Explanation.

This is the time for me to get real. I've been silent for good, bad, and petty reasons. Let's start with the bad. I'm going to just get started here. If this seems unnecessarily formatted for what it is, you're absolutely correct. I'm using this post to get me back in the swing of Markdown. I used it for [TheTechHangout.com}(https://TheTechHangout.com)... Thank you Patrice...and will be writing in Markdown here as well. I'm just a lot rusty at this point.

The Bad

I haven't been making much money doing freelance. On top of that, Roethig Tech is non-commercial. I want my only master on this site to be my own thoughts and feelings. Because of that and a really tough time for my parents., my renewal for Roethig.tech expired. I do plan to get the domain back at some point (update, I did and Roethig.tech redirects here), just like I did benroethig.com, so it will eventually redirect to this site, just as roethigtech.blog does, but RoethigTech.com will be the primary domain of Roethig Tech

The Good

Its not all been bad. I started a new day job a little while ago as an IT Consultant working on a project for the next year or so. Hopefully, that leads to a permanent position thereafter. I have no desire to leave where I'm at during this point of my life, so next summer I will be looking for something remote or local if the place where I'm working does not poach me from the company where I'm at. Until then, i have a pretty good gig for the next year.

The Petty

The last reason is a double dose of pettiness. We all saw Apple's response to the Digital Markets Act. It seemed like it was written by a spoiled child who didn't want to eat their veggies. The way Apple complied kicking and screaming left me... less than inspired to write. I guess that was also petty on my part. Apple since the mid 90s, so I guess I've adopted a few of Apple's less desirable traits.

The Future.

Between a WWDC that absolutely blew me away, the Snapdragon X Plus/ Elite Launch, and word that 2025 will ARM Windows SoCs from MediaTek, Nvidia, and AMD, I'm reenergized. Expect the first post of the second age of Roethig Tech to come this weekend. Until then, have a great night!
